![]() The Senator course will host the Navistar LPGA Classic in 2007. If played from the tips at 7697 yards, the Senator becomes truly penal - more akin too Carnoustie, or should that be Car-nastie ! List of courses: Alabama The Senator is a hugely enjoyable links-style golf course that weaves its way through treeless hills and mounds, all very reminiscent of playing the famous links of St Andrews or Ballybunion - most especially if the wind blows. In classic Scottish fashion, the par-4 3rd hole and par-3 7th share a double-green. Small, round, pot bunkers are liberally scattered along the relatively narrow fairways, which lead you to undulating greens that are sometimes elevated, sometimes tucked in between the dunes. With narrow-ish tumbling fairways, clinging semi-rough and ball-swallowing knee-high grass on top of the mounds, this is a layout that challenges and tests both amateurs and professionals alike. The terrain is treeless and expansive, with hills and mounds concealing many of the greens from the tee the dune-like mounding and 250 / 150 yard marker posts providing your line from the tee. ![]() ![]() All the traditional seaside links features are here in abundance, only the sea views are missing. RTJ Golf Trail - Capitol Hill (Senator course): Clearly this Senator, the third excellent course at Capitol Hill on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, has roots that lie in Britain or Ireland, such are its open, rolling, links-style characteristics. ![]()
